How We Verify Channels

Last updated: May 2025

At ExploreChannels, every listing goes through a human-reviewed editorial process before it appears in our directory. This page explains exactly what we check and what our verification means — and what it does not.

Our Verification Process

01Link Validation

We check that the WhatsApp channel link opens correctly and leads to a valid, publicly accessible channel page. Broken or invalid links are rejected.

02Follower Count Recording

We record the visible follower count at the time of review. This number is displayed on the listing and updated periodically during rechecks.

03Channel Type Identification

We identify whether the channel appears to be official (brand-owned), creator-owned, or community-run based on publicly available information such as the channel name, description, and branding.

04WhatsApp Badge Observation

We note whether WhatsApp's own green verification badge is visible on the channel. This badge is issued by WhatsApp, not by ExploreChannels.

05Content & Activity Review

We review the channel description and recent activity for relevance and quality. Channels with misleading descriptions, spam content, or harmful material are not listed.

06No False Affiliation Claims

We do not claim affiliation with any channel unless explicitly stated by the channel owner. Each listing clearly states this independence.

07Periodic Rechecks

Listings are rechecked periodically to ensure continued accuracy. Follower counts, channel status, and descriptions are refreshed during these reviews.

08Removal Policy

Channels that become inactive, broken, or misleading are removed from the directory. Channel owners can also request removal at any time.

What Verification Does NOT Mean

  • We do not endorse the content, opinions, or products shared by any channel.
  • We do not guarantee the identity of the channel owner beyond publicly observable information.
  • Our listing does not imply any partnership, sponsorship, or business relationship with the channel.
  • The term "verified" on our site refers to our editorial review process, not WhatsApp's official verification badge.
